I would say that Disney was really at its peak in this period. Most of us, grew up watching movies from The Renaissance period of Disney. The Disney princesses are part of three main eras…Golden, Renaissance, and Revival. The movie era depends on the year in which the film came out. Each Disney film that you watch is part of a certain era.

I think that the Disney princesses have a lot more to teach than just beauty, however, I would like to dig deeper into this princess problem and analyze just why people seem to dislike Ariel, Cinderella, Jasmine, and all of the other favorite Disney leading ladies. They teach young girls that being beautiful is a woman’s best asset. I have read and been a part of several Disney discussions and one issue that people have with these princesses is the message that they depict to young girls. Why would they do that? The Disney princesses are always so sweet, graceful, and their movies are full of romanticism. Over the last decade or so I have heard people negatively talk about the Disney princesses.
